A quick word from your Beacon Bolt Editor-in-Chief:
Greetings NCU Beacons!
In light of the end of the 2018-2019 school year, it is time that The Beacon Bolt bid you farewell. It has been a whirlwind of a year, and it has been my pleasure to report on it for you. We have loved getting to know each and every one of you, and are so grateful to have included you in our articles. Now, we must tell you that our time here on The Beacon Bolt has come to an end. It has been a grand journey since the beginning, and you have made it all worth the while. So many of you have had important things to say, and we have been honored to give you an outlet to use your voice. We have featured many of your passions and individual stories on the Bolt, and we are proud to say that because of you, we have been able to shine our light! I’d like to call this a goodbye for now (or a see ya soon), so keep an eye out in the future for a club. Remember that your voice is important & God is using you to shine His light. Thank you for an amazing two years on the Bolt, I couldn’t have done it without you! Shine on Beacons!
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Another quick word from your Beacon Bolt Assistant Editor:
Hola Bolt readers,
For three years it has been my honor to serve you as a writer and videographer on the Bolt. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories with you that were relevant to our community. I hope you have enjoyed reading and watching them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
I wanted to thank Zoe and Princess for bringing me on this team so long ago. I stuck with it for almost my entire collegiate career and I have loved every minute of it.
As of three years ago, I added writing for the Bolt to a list of passions of mine. I spoke on topics that were relevant to your lives. Creating has always been a passion of mine and I saw it mostly flourish through my videography and photography. I highlighted the good works being done around the world through missionaries we have come across. I brought forward stories of those recovering from hurricanes and other natural disasters. I was vulnerable through my reflections on things going on in my life. But, I think the most important articles and videos I wrote were of you. Your stories are worth telling and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Sharing each others stories is something we should all be invested in as it explains different perspectives that we might have never seen on our own. So I hope I did that, and although the Bolt may no longer be telling your stories, you always will.
Thank you to the guest writers who helped us write from unique perspectives. We couldn’t have provided different and original content without you.
Thank you to everyone who read the Bolt!
